What Every kid wants to know
Going to camp is an experience like none other. Camp Fitch is about building strong friendships. It’s about discovering your personal talents and gifts, testing your skills and trying new activities. Camp Fitch is an incredible place to test your wings and challenge yourself to do things you never dreamed you could.
Over the course of a week, there are 16 activity periods for which you get to make choices. For six of these periods you have the opportunity to select a program that goes more in depth. We call these progressive skill building programs, “Kivas”. “KIVA” is Native American for “meeting place.” It is at these meeting places, or KIVAS, that you have the opportunity to learn and build your skill in canoeing, painting, rock climbing, kayaking, golf, dance, horseback riding, mountain boarding and sailing. New Kivas are being added every year.
At Camp Fitch you will discover something new about yourself and about the world around you. With our incredible setting on Lake Erie with over 450 acres of lakes, streams and trails, you are sure to have an adventure of a lifetime. You will have opportunities to explore, learn, and yes, even laugh and be silly. You will find a place where you belong – a home away from home.
Campfire Return to the top
You just can’t have a summer camp without a campfire. So gather around and learn a few new songs and hear some great stories at the end of an exciting, fun-filled day.
Food Return to the top
Meals are an important part of any summer camp experience and well-balanced meals are the order of the day – everyday! Meals are supplemented by nutritious juices, salad bars and fresh-baked breads – and don’t forget about those desserts and cookies.
How about snacks? Evening treats include great pizza or every camper’s favorite – campfire s’mores!
All of Camp Fitch’s meals are served family style in our modern dining facility. This unique structure has a commanding view of Lake Erie with seating for over 800.
