Camp Fitch’s 450-acre site is bursting with engaging activities. The camp borders a mile of Lake Erie shoreline and numerous creeks. And, you can customize your schedule to fit your specific interests. Campers have the opportunity to make their own choices of activities each day.

Whether splashing in the waves along the Lake Erie shoreline or executing the perfect dive into our 25-meter pool, Camp Fitch offers the best in summer’s most important activity. You can even join the morning Polar Bear Club. In addition to fun, safety is always a priority. Certified lifeguards supervise all of our waterfront areas.

Grab a paddle and head out to our beautiful inland lake, Lake MVIMA, for a morning of boating. Looking for something a little more exhilarating? Lake Erie provides some of the best sailing, water skiing and sea kayaking in this part of the country.

Climbing – Outdoor Tower/Indoor Center Return to the top

There is only one prerequisite for getting to the top of a climbing wall: the desire to have fun. With our instructors' guidance, both our 40-foot outdoor tower and 20-foot indoor climbing center offer an exciting challenge and provide a safe way to achieve the peak experience that campers seek.

Our .22 rifle program provides you with an opportunity to experience just what it takes to be a marksman. Offered under the guidance of experts, the program stresses safety, personal responsibility and exercising good judgment.

The ancient sport of archery has been a Camp Fitch favorite for more summers than we can count. Our experienced instructors will help you through the process as you nock the arrow, pull the bow slowly as you hold your breath and stand perfectly still, release and watch it fly toward the multi-colored target. A bull’s eye? Maybe. A thrill? You bet! Learn range safety and how to properly shoot a bow and arrow. Campers can rise through skill levels and earn awards for their efforts.

Horseback Riding Return to the top

Our equestrian center offers the unique opportunity of riding your favorite horse through miles of wooded trails. The horseback riding experience now includes expanded classes covering riding form, barn care and basic horsemanship. Campers tell us that some of the best friends they made during their stay were of the four-legged variety.

Paintball happens on a five-acre trail system designed for campers to shoot at targets along the trail. Competitive games are played and shooting skills enhanced in an adventurous and safe setting.

Cast your line from the shore of beautiful Lake MVIMA and wait for the fish to bite! Fishing is great at our private inland lake and is home to bluegill, sunfish and large mouth bass.

A professional-level batting cage is in place and capable of throwing pitches at a wide range of speeds. Campers improve their skills at batting in a safe and controlled atmosphere.

Par? Birdies? Learn about these and more while fine-tuning your golf swing here at camp. At the end of the camper week golfers have the opportunity to travel to a local golf course for a round of 9 holes of golf.

Crafts are a part of every summer camp and its no exception at Camp Fitch. A long-standing tradition that takes place in our 800-square-foot crafts lodge, campers can enjoy many craft options including traditional gimp and leather braiding, tie-dyeing, ceramic figure painting, beading, calligraphy, hemp work and book making.

Ready to get physical? Work on your athletic skills by participating in a wide variety of sports such as soccer, touch football, volleyball and basketball. Not only will you be able to ‘get your game on’ these competitive challenges will give you the opportunity to learn what real teamwork is all about.

Let no child be left inside!  Our nature program lets you explore the natural world at Camp Fitch through hikes, nature games and nature crafts.  Campers can also get a close look at some of our native inhabitants in our year-round Boardman Rotary Nature Center.
